The tyranny of spreadsheets: How one of our most powerful tools became one of the most misused

I discuss an article from the Financial Times Magazine by Tim Harford. Adapted from one of Tim’s ‘Cautionary Tales’, the article presents some curious stories about spreadsheets - from historical accounts dating back to 14th century Venice to well-known recent mishaps for Public Health England (and society in general!). I share my own (sometimes disastrous) experiences and consider what additional precautions we can take.
